baby update - 12 weeks
Tuesday I had my first appointment with my OB-GYN and it went great! I wasn't sure if I'd get an ultrasound since I had one at 8 weeks, but I did! Right when we started the ultrasound, baby started flailing his/her arms up and down. It was the coolest thing ever! Larry and I couldn't believe baby could move so much already. I read that even though I couldn't feel it, baby was beginning to move, but I guess I didn't expect him/her to move that much! I think he/she is going to be a dancer like mama!
The doctor said that everything looks great and baby is measuring right on track. He sees no chance of a high risk pregnancy, which is such a relief. I'm so excited to watch and feel baby grow. At the next ultrasound in 2 months we will be able to determine baby's gender! What do you think baby Wallace is??

12 weeks | 3 months
(Blurry picture this week- blame it on Larry)
How far along? 12 weeks + 2 days
Baby is the size of a: Plum or lime
Total weight gain: Down 2-3 lbs from my starting weight
Maternity clothes? Wore my new maternity shorts and some red maternity pants that my mom got me from the Goodwill last week.
Sleep: Going down hill. My back is starting to hurt in my sleep. Thinking about ordering the Snoogle pillow soon.
Best moment this week: Seeing baby on the ultrasound!
Miss Anything? My energy and the ability to actually get things done.
Cravings: None lately.
Symptoms: Oh my goodness, I have been good for nothin' this week up until today. I've been feeling nauseated and super tired in the evenings.
Looking forward to: The second trimester!!

10 weeks

How far along? 10 weeks + 3 days
Baby is the size of a: Date (I have no idea what that is to be honest)
Total weight gain: Still down 4-5 lbs.
Maternity clothes? I actually went to Old Navy today to look for some maternity pants for work or some jeans. No luck, but I did get some maternity shorts!
Sleep: I had a couple bad nights of sleep this week, but I've still been sleeping good for the most part.
Best moment this week: I had an awesome, realistic dream about being in the hospital holding baby. SHE was absolutely beautiful and perfect. I can't wait to find out if my dream is true and baby really is a girl.
Miss Anything? Still missing my appetite.
Cravings: ICEEs! I had 3 last week and 2 so far this week.
Symptoms: The nausea has calmed down a lot THANK GOD. Food still hasn't been appetizing. Heartburn is little worse this week. Indigestion is constant. I can't eat anything that I don't want to belch up for the rest of the day. And this week the tiredness is back. Baby must be growing a lot this week!
Looking forward to: My first appointment with my OBGYN in less than 2 weeks!

9 weeks

"your uterus is the size of a grapefruit this week" so where else would that grapefruit fit?!
How far along? 9 weeks + 2 days
Baby is the size of a: Grape
Total weight gain: I'm actually down about 4ish pounds.
Maternity clothes? Nope, but will definitely be needing some bottoms soon!
Sleep: Thankfully sleep is still good. Right now I only wake up once in the night to pee, and that was mostly normal pre-pregnancy
Best moment this week: Actually being able to eat a full meal at IHOP Sunday after church. I had New York cheesecake pancakes, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, and sausage links, and I almost finished the whole meal and didn't even feel sick! It was definitely an accomplishment for how little I've been able to eat the past 2 weeks.
Miss Anything? My appetite and being able to enjoy food.
Cravings: How about the opposite of cravings.. all food sounds gross lately.
Symptoms: Sing it with me- nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea. Yepp, I have all of the Pepto bismol commercial symptoms other than diarrhea. The nausea has been the worst. It's been pretty constant for over a week now. I can barely eat anything and like I said, nothing sounds appetizing lately.
Looking forward to: This nausea going away soon and getting my appetite back! Oh please dear God, let it be soon!

7 weeks + our 1st ultrasound
Monday we finally got to see our itty bitty baby in an ultrasound! We found out that it was indeed just one baby that I'm carrying. Though Larry and others thought it could be twins, I knew it all along! We also got to hear and see his/her heartbeat, and I swear that was the coolest thing I've ever heard in my life. I replayed the sound over and over in my mind. I can't wait to hear it again. Larry and I both teared up listening to it! It was so neat that we could see the heartbeat fluttering in the ultrasound. That tiny little heart is working so hard to grow our baby. I can't stop looking at this picture. I'm so in love with this baby already!

How far along? 7 weeks + 2 days
Baby is the size of a: Blueberry
Total weight gain: None.
Maternity clothes? I bought a belly band and my mom picked me up some red skinny maternity pants at the goodwill, but no need to wear them just yet!
Sleep: Sleep is still good to me.
Best moment this week: The ultrasound of course!
Miss Anything? Not being so hormonal! Lol.
Cravings: None.
Symptoms: 6 weeks brought on my first bit of nausea. Last Monday, I went to Walmart and I was so scared I was going to throw up all over the place I was so nauseous. I got up to the register and pulled my crackers out of my purse (because I can't go anywhere without them now) and grabbed a sprite. Then I made it out to the parking lot and oh my gosh it smelled like straight up sewage! Somehow I made it to my car without vomiting. Thank God, no vomiting at all yet. I have been nauseous on and off though. Also a lot of heartburn after eating.
Looking forward to: Seeing our sweet baby and hearing the heartbeat again. Too bad our next appointment isn't for 5 more weeks!

5 weeks

How far
along? 5 weeks + 3 days
Total
weight gain: Not sure, but I don't think any yet.
Maternity clothes? Nope, not yet.
Sleep:
Love it. I have been so tired lately. I'm pretty much exhausted by 1:30 every day and I have trouble staying awake!
Best moment
this week: Getting to share my pregnancy excitement with my mom and sister when they came visit this weekend!
Miss Anything? Nothing really to miss yet! Other than caffiene, but I haven't had caffiene since November!
Cravings: None yet!
Symptoms: Sleepy... sooo sleepy.
Looking forward to: Pretty much everything pregnancy and baby.... having an actual baby bump, hearing baby's heartbeat, shopping for baby, planning baby's nursery, finding out baby's gender... all of it!

positively pregnant
So even though we heard the good news from our Doctor himself on Tuesday, I just couldn't go without taking a pregnancy test to see that positive! If you've gone through infertility and you've seen multiple negative tests when you were hoping for positives, you know my excitement.

Last Thursday I had my second beta test to check my HCG levels. My second beta was 453 (My first was 188). So it a little more than doubled! Which is awesome. I don't know the exact science behind it, but I think that your numbers have to double in 2 days to indicate if it's going to be a healthy pregnancy.
Our next appointment is Monday, May 18th... not soon enough! At that appointment we will do an ultrasound that will for 1. let us hear the heartbeat(s) and 2. tell us how many babies we will be having!I'd love for it to be twins (2 for the price of 1, right?!), but my motherly instinct already tells me it's just one. I'm happy with either though! Whatever God blesses us with will be amazing :)

Also, at just 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant (last week), I took my very first bump picture! Ok, ok, truth be told, that is not a baby bump. Yes, there's a baby (or two) in there, but that bump is definitely more like a fertility drug bump hahaha. It's actually smaller this week!
